Greek-Chinese meeting focuses on the promotion of audiovisual production
Secretary General for Media and Communication, Mr Lefteris Kretsos held a meeting with a delegation of the China’s State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (20.11.2017).
A high-ranking delegation from China’s State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) – a superministry with responsibilities on the above-mentioned policy areas – is currently visiting Greece and had a meeting today (20.11) with the Secretary General for Media and Communication, Mr Lefteris Kretsos, at the presmises of the Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media ministry.
The two sides exchanges views and information on institutional reforms in China and Greece in the field of broadcasting and cinema.
More specifically, Mr Kretsos briefed the Chinese delegation on the new law passed by the Greek Parliament in the summer, which concerns the introduction of cash rebates for audiovisual productions (cinema, television, cartoons and digital games), and is expected to be fully implemented by early 2018.
For its part, the Chinese delegation expanded on China's legislative framework for the promotion of the film and audiovisual industry, noting that an update process is in progress.
Both sides expressed their wish to broaden the cooperation between Greece and China in the field of production and promotion of audiovisual works.
