The play is adapted and directed by distinguished Chinese director Dr. Wang Xiaoying.
Just before the enrichment of the Acropolis Museum temporary exhibition "From the Forbidden City: Imperial Apartments of Qianlong" with new exhibits on 13 December, Mr Theodossis Tassios, distinguished Professor of Polytechnic University will give a lecture on “China and Ancient Greece: Comparing mythology and philosophy”.
Admission to the lecture is free.
The exhibition is a cooperation between the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and The Palace Museum of Beijing, within the framework of cultural exchanges that begun during the Greece-China 2017 -Year of Cultural Exchanges and Cooperation in Creative Industries, and the exhibits consist of 342 antiquities, 6 modern models from the National Archaeological Museum, one work from the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities and one work from the Benaki Museum.
The Greek panel consisted, among others, of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) professor Mrs. A. Moropoulou, who presented innovative and sustainable cultural heritage management actions, Mrs. Georgia Aggelaki, consultant on digitalization of the Greek National Library, and Mr. K. Konstantinidis, CEO of PostScriptum and an active member of the largest European digital cultural library (Europeana).
Organized by the Acropolis Museum in cooperation with the Palace Museum in Beijing as part of the “Greece-China Year of Cultural Exchanges and Cooperation of Creative Industries 2017”, the exhibition displays a series of remarkable artifacts that once belonged to Emperor Qianlong (1711-1799).
