“There is a strong investment interest on behalf of China”

“The geographical position of our country renders Greece to a physical bridge between Europe and Asia and a privileged partner in terms of Chinese trade” underlines the Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs, George Katrougkalos as he describes the Greek strategy to capitalize these advantages.

We have been hearing for a long time about the “strategic cooperation” between Greece and China. What has changed during the last year?

“We are still at the beginning in what concerns our relations with China”

Before becoming Attica Region Governor, Rena Dourou headed the foreign policy department of the SYRIZA party. This is one of the reasons why she has been prioritizing diplomacy in the largest region of the country. She has been investing in an outward-looking orientation, working to create strong channels of cooperation with China.

“New Silk Road” – Chinese Contemporary Porcelain Exhibition in Corfu island

The Corfu Museum of Asian Art, with the support of the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports, on the occasion of “2017 Year of Cultural Cooperation between Greece and China”, holds the Chinese contemporary porcelain exhibition “New Silk Road”. Forty exhibits, fine samples of contemporary Chinese Ru Royal Kiln porcelain, manufactured with the same technique as in Song dynasty, are presented for the first time to Greece.

“Glimpses of Greece”: Photographic exhibition in Guangzhou

On the occasion of the 2017 Greece-China Year of Cultural Cooperation, the Consulate General of Greece in Guangzhou launched on May 25, 2017 the photographic exhibition “Glimpses of Greece”.

The exhibition, held at F10 Space of the Redtory Art District in Guangzhou, is presenting over 30 pieces of photographic works of the Chinese photographer Zhou Chen with the theme of Greece.

Greece to expand ties with China in telecom, audiovisual & culture, energy, transport and infrastructure projects

The expansion of relations with China in the spheres of telecommunications, culture, cinema and the audiovisual cultural industry, as well as through economic cooperation and investments, constitutes a “strategic choice for Greece”, said Greek Digital Policy Minister Nikos Pappas.
