Inauguration of exhibition "Greek Photographers focusing on Beijing"
The inauguration of the photo exhibition "Greek Photographers focusing on Beijing" took place at the Municipal Art Gallery of Piraeus on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 7:00 pm.
The exhibition, which was organized within the framework of the Year of Cultural Exchanges between Greece and China by the Secretariat General for Media & Communication and the Information Office of People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, hosts 100 photos of two Greek photographers, Mr. Ioannis Marinoglou and Mr. George Doupas. The two photographers, through their works, manage to transfer us to the Chinese capital, by presenting landscapes, monuments of Chinese cultural heritage, the everyday life of the city's inhabitants and the modern face of China.
At the inauguration ceremony, Ms. Irene Daifa, Deputy Mayor of Piraeus for Cultural Affairs, Ms. Valia Kaimaki, Counselor to the Secretary General for Media & Communication, Mr. Xu Hejian, Director of Information Office of People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, and Mr. Ioannis Marinoglou, photographer, gave short speeches at the main hall of the Municipal Art Gallery which was filled with numerous art friends and a large delegation from Beijing Municipality. All the speakers, in their greetings, highlighted the good cooperation between Greece and China, particularly in the field of culture, and praised the efforts undertaken in order to bring closer the two peoples.
The exhibition will run until May 4, 2018.
