A workshop for the public, with free entrance, is organized on 15 September at the Athens Concert Hall. Participants will have the opportunity to get to know the actors of the performance, to learn the secrets of Chinese theatre make-up and much more!
The performance of the China National Peking Opera at the Athens Concert Hall, as part of the 2017 Greece-China Year of Cultural Exchanges, is coupled by a free of charge workshop, open to the public, on Friday 15 September at the Alexandra Trianti Hall.
In the course of the workshop, the audience will become acquainted with the history of the Peking opera as a genre of performing arts, with a stagecraft that functions symbolically, the music and singing based on folklore and interpreted by traditional instruments, the different categories of roles, the costumes, accessories and make-up that emphasize the personality of each character.
They will also learn about the training of artists on order toy become performers of the Peking Opera, which involves many years of experience and requires a variety of skills: singing according to Chinese standards, enunciation that differs from everyday speech, acting, pantomime, dancing and acrobatic skills with elements of martial arts.
