Representatives from Ancient Civilizations meet in Athens

The first Ministerial Conference in the framework of the "Ancient Civilizations Forum" (ACForum, more widely known as the GC10) is taking place in Athens on Monday 24 April, 2017. Ten states representing important ancient civilizations  - Greece, China, Egypt, Bolivia, India, Iraq, Iran, Italy, Mexico and Peru - participate in this initiative.  

The meeting marks the official establishment of the Forum and is taking place at the joint invitation of Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

In the course of the ministerial meeting, will which begins at 09:00 am, at Zappeion Mansion, participants will have the opportunity to exchange views on the role of culture as a source of “soft power” and of international cultural cooperation as a factor for economic development.

The Forum proceedings will culminate in a press conference, after which attending officials will be taken on a guided tour of the Acropolis Museum.
